Sherry Mers, the founder of Angel Service Dogs, has a daughter that has a deadly peanut allergy. Sherry, her daughter, Riley, and their peanut sniffing dog, Rock'O were featured on several national news channels such as the Today Show and is currently featured in an article in REDBOOK (July 2010).
This non profit organization called Angel Service Dogs that provides Allergy Service Dogs to children like my son, Garrett. These dogs are like their bodyguards. Just like any other service dogs, they are with the child 24/7 and help out by locating by smell, the deadly allergens such as peanut residue or wheat, or eggs, whatever the child is allergic to. The dog makes the person(s) with it aware of the deadly presence.
